Casas Por Cristo – Photoserve

This past week I spent an amazing time with a bunch of photographers down in Acuna, Mexico taking part in building a home for a family in need.  We partnered together with Casas Por Cristo on a project called “Photoserve.”  I think most of us photographers had little to no experience in building a home.  I know I didn’t.  I took part in measuring and cutting the wood, nailing the roof on, stapling the insulation (and part of my finger!), and installing all the drywall with Mike Colon. It was grueling work in a hot and humid desert, but so rewarding knowing that our efforts would bless this family that lived in a dilapidated shelter of a home and survived on $70 a week.  I’ve put together a slideshow of our work.
