Mini Session Fundraiser

I’ve been busy during the slow wedding season with some portrait and senior sessions. I have an opportunity coming up in April for anyone interested in a small family shoot. I am putting on a mini session fundraiser to help fund a mission’s trip to the Dominican Republic in August of this year. We are coming alongside the Rineholt family who are missionaries working at a school for Haitian children. The school is supported by a ministry called Children of Hope (http://sponsorchildrenofhope.com/about/), where the children get an education and meals. This will be my 3rd time going down there in a year and a half, it is truly becoming a passionate outlet to minister to those who are in need.

Lacee + Chris, The Red Horse Barn, Huntington Beach CA

Again, I’ve been blown away by the creativity of these weddings I’ve been shooting! Lacee and Chris put together a perfectly detailed country styled outdoor wedding complete with dinner from IN-N-OUT served from the truck. This wedding was a perfect way to begin the month of October!

I got to know Lacee a long time ago when I was in the youth group at church. We shared the same group of friends and had a lot of great times together. I was so excited to have it work out for me to take her wedding photos!

Lacee and Chris made the perfect couple, with their perfect smiles and southern California tans. Their humor and laughter together was contagious. They brought together a whole bunch of friends for their wedding party numbering about 24 people. It was quite the group photo! My wife Danielle and assistant Christina were so excited in seeing all the details at the reception, and loaded up our memory cards trying to capture it all. The best man speech was one of the best I’ve heard. Everyone was dying with laughter.

Danielle + Logan, Long Shadow Ranch, Temecula CA

The very first time I met Danielle was at Brook and Joe’s wedding back in March. Shortly after seeing Brooke’s photos, she called me up to book me for her wedding! She knew exactly what she wanted, and I fit the bill!

In planning the wedding, Danielle wanted to pick a place that would be fun and relaxed for Logan. Long Shadow Ranch in Temecula offered a very picturesque location and fun atmosphere. Danielle then planned out all the rest of the wedding details. She even wanted their boys to enjoy their outfits so she got them bow ties with little skulls on them! They had a blast!

My wife Danielle and I had a great time being a part this special occasion in their lives. Being able to capture the love between Danielle and Logan in a photo is one of the reasons we love weddings so much!

After Bobby and I first met with Jen and Matt I was smitten. I told him that I was in love with Jen’s blue eyes and I want her to be our bride! We were so honored that they allowed us to be a part of their special day (thanks Jen and Matt).

Their wedding took place at The Villa in San Juan Capistrano, an absolutely GORGEOUS venue. Michelle and the staff there were really helpful. The décor Jen and Matt used complimented the venue perfectly. I have to say the our whole team was so impressed by the flowers as well, the florist did a great job and definitely made my top 5 list! But the best part about Jen and Matt’s wedding was Jen and Matt, they were the life of the party and their mood was infectious! We had so much fun hanging out with them and their whole bridal party! Chelsea and Justin, Corona Del Mar

I’m officially an old man when I start photographing former students getting married! Chelsea and Justin were both in my class some years ago, though they weren’t an item back then. I was so honored to have them choose me to be their photographer!

I am really excited about these photos!! I can’t wait to share all of them soon, but here’s a few until I get back from the Dominican Republic!

Tamara and Randal, The Heritage Museum

I recently had the pleasure of photographing Tamara and Randal’s wedding at the Heritage Museum in Santa Ana California. I’ve done a few weddings here and enjoy the atmosphere and setting of this venue. I’m really into vintage and antique things so photographing around the house was extra special.

Katherine & Brandon, Los Coyotes Country Club

Last weekend was spent at the Los Coyotes Country Club photographing Katherine and Brandon’s wedding. Katherine and Brandon both love the Lakers, or should I say Katherine is OBSESSED with the Lakers! But it’s ok, because so am I! They tied some Laker things into the wedding decor, from her garter, to the table names, to an overall theme of purple. It was a really fun evening, and I’m so happy to have been a part of their special day!

Dominican Republic

I had the joy of going to the Dominican Republic a couple weeks ago with 62 high school seniors. It was a life-changing trip for us all. We were able to go into sugar cane villages, orphanages, schools and more to share the gospel of Jesus Christ. We played games, handed out clothing, painted, and the students performed skits. About half of the time got baptized. Overall, truly a wonderful time. I would love to go again real soon!

I’ve been quite busy the past couple weeks, and the next few aren’t letting up, so I’ll just post a quick video slideshow recap of the trip.

Photo Booth: Photo Booths for Parties

Wow! What a great time with these two!! I truly felt so fortunate to be a part of Brook and Joe’s wedding day. We started off the day photographing at Brook’s mom’s house, capturing all the fun little details and get ready shots. Brook’s make-up was flawless. Her red lipstick was the perfect accent to her complexion…and her shoes! Joe was looking dapper and had some great groomsmen helping to keep him relaxed. There was so much emotion as we approached their first look that it even made me a little teary eyed! Afterwards, they had their beautiful ceremony in the shadow of Castle Green in Pasadena. There was a humorous part of the ceremony when Brook, maybe being a little nervous herself, placed the ring on Joe’s right hand instead of his left. Everyone gave a laugh as she switched it to the left hand.

All in all, my team and I enjoyed this wedding so much. It was a pleasure for us to tell their story with the images we captured. We even participated in the photo booth!

Jen + Matt Engagement, Griffith Observatory

Last weekend I got to visit the Griffith Observatory to photograph Jen and Matt’s engagement photos. I hadn’t been there since I was like 5. It’s definitely a cool place to check out. The views were stunning, and I can only imagine what it would look like on a clear day! After the photos there, we drove to downtown LA to get some more urban shots with some of the artistic designs on the walls in the arts district.
