Dominican Republic

I had the joy of going to the Dominican Republic a couple weeks ago with 62 high school seniors.  It was a life-changing trip for us all.  We were able to go into sugar cane villages, orphanages, schools and more to share the gospel of Jesus Christ.  We played games, handed out clothing, painted, and the students performed skits.  About half of the time got baptized.  Overall, truly a wonderful time.  I would love to go again real soon!

I’ve been quite busy the past couple weeks, and the next few aren’t letting up, so I’ll just post a quick video slideshow recap of the trip.

Wow! What a great time with these two!! I truly felt so fortunate to be a part of Brook and Joe’s wedding day.  We started off the day photographing at Brook’s mom’s house, capturing all the fun little details and get ready shots.  Brook’s make-up was flawless.  Her red lipstick was the perfect accent to her complexion…and her shoes!  Joe was looking dapper and had some great groomsmen helping to keep him relaxed.  There was so much emotion as we approached their first look that it even made me a little teary eyed!  Afterwards, they had their beautiful ceremony in the shadow of Castle Green in Pasadena.  There was a humorous part of the ceremony when Brook, maybe being a little nervous herself, placed the ring on Joe’s right hand instead of his left.  Everyone gave a laugh as she switched it to the left hand.

All in all, my team and I enjoyed this wedding so much.  It was a pleasure for us to tell their story with the images we captured.  We even participated in the photo booth!
Whoops!  Gotta put it on the left hand! This photo booth was awesome!  Definitely check out their website if you’re interested in something like this!

Jen + Matt Engagement, Griffith Observatory

Last weekend I got to visit the Griffith Observatory to photograph Jen and Matt’s engagement photos.  I hadn’t been there since I was like 5.  It’s definitely a cool place to check out.  The views were stunning, and I can only imagine what it would look like on a clear day!  After the photos there, we drove to downtown LA to get some more urban shots with some of the artistic designs on the walls in the arts district.

Thanks Jen and Matt for a great time!  Looking forward to your wedding in August!

Baby Amelia, My Niece

My sister had her 4th child last week, and this one was the first girl of the family!  My first niece!  Believe me, she will be spoiled!! Love her!

Alyson and Scott, Camarillo Ranch House

It’s been a while since I’ve been in high school, let alone jr. high, but that’s when I met my friend Scott.  It was so great to be at his wedding and be able to photograph it for him! He and Alyson were married at the Camarillo Ranch House in the city of Camarillo.  I was amazed at the architecture of this house.  My wife and have become interested in antiques and old things, so this place didn’t disappoint.  Definitely a great venue!  Scott and Alyson did a great job with all the decorations and planning.  So happy for them!
